My home away from home- Mass

My first stable Sunday in Spain, I knew I wanted to find a church so I could attend Mass. Luckily google really does know all ;) After sleeping in a tad, I got ready and set off to find the church 10 minutes from my apartment. (Yes mom, I went by myself, but I am just fine)!

Boldly, I decided not to take my map with me (mainly because the church was only a couple city blocks away, but also because it labels me as a foreigner). After a little searching, I found the place I was looking for! I expected the parish to look like Catholic churches at home, which is one reason I had trouble finding it. The bottom of an apartment building had been converted into a small chapel!

Even though this little room is much different than my home parish, I couldn't help but feel at peace. No matter the cultural and language differences I've been struggling with, I felt calmed and happy to know exactly what was happening (even though Mass was exclusively in Spanish). I'm wonderfully blessed to be a part of a religion that stands constant and enduring, even across and ocean.

After a splendid morning, I went to the beach again for a few hours, and all the ISA girls chatted and soaked up some rays (still not sunburned, and keeping my fingers crossed).

That's all for now! XOXO
