The South of France

Wow, I never thought I'd be cool enough to type that! After leaving Paris, Judy and I headed via train to Nice, France which is located in the south on the Mediterranean Sea. My mother has a family friend who lives here that she visited while she was in college.

Mom's friend Willy picked Judy and I up from the train station, and took us on a little panoramic tour via car of Cannes, Antibes, Cagnes de Mar, and St. Laurent du Var, where we were staying. He brought us by his home so meet his family (Sonia his wife, Karen his daughter, and Samuel his son). We then took our luggage to Willy's mother's home, which she seldom stays in. What a beautiful home!

Willy then dropped us off at the beach for a little while before dinner. An interesting difference I noted was that the beaches all over Spain have sand (and lots of it), but in the south of France most have large, smooth stones instead. Much more hygienic, but a little harder on the feet! ;)

Nice, France

Judy and I then returned to Willy's for a lovely dinner with his family. We ate, chatted, and laughed which was the perfect end to our first day in Nice! I'm looking forward to relaxation and tranquility for the next couple of days :)
